EGP Nominations
Screening for Halifax County Public Schools’ Elementary Gifted Program and for Honors classes for the 2017-2018 school year will begin in February.  Teachers, other school officials, community members, and parents may nominate students for screening. Nominated students should maintain honor roll or Principal’s Award all year, go above and beyond requirements on assignments, work well independently, and want additional work to keep him/her challenged.   Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you would like to initiate the referral process. The deadline for referral of students in grades K-10 is January 27, 2017.  Current EGP students do NOT have to go through screening for the Elementary Gifted Program or the Honors Program.  If you have any questions regarding screening for the Elementary Gifted Program, please contact the gifted specialist at your child’s elementary school. Questions regarding the Honors program at the Middle and High School levels should be directed to the guidance department at those schools.
