Halifax County Virtual Academy

Halifax County Public Schools is pleased to offer it's parents and students an alternative to the traditional educational setting through the Halifax County Virtual Academy. The Academy provides a comprehensive elementary and secondary program to students. Nonresidents of Halifax County, Virginia may direct their inquiries to the contact information below.

PROGRAM OF STUDIES

  • Grades K-8:

    • Traditional program of study aligned with Virginia SOL accountability

  • High School Grades 9-12:

    • Advanced Diploma
    • Standard Diploma
    • Course Offerings include Honors, Standard & Electives

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Completion of the Halifax County Virtual Academy parent agreement >> download form

  • Demonstrated proficiency to enroll in required courses

  • Permission for the release of records from current school >> download form

  • Present original birth certificate

  • Verified immunization records >> download form - download instructions

ADMISSION TO VIRTUAL ACADEMY

Admission to Halifax County Virtual Academy shall be the decision of the Halifax County Virtual Academy Admission's committee. Parents will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance within two weeks of proficiency assessments.
