Welcome to Halifax County High School, Home of the Comets!

Our mission is to provide a safe learning environment where everyone is valued and respected. We are committed to forming partnerships with parents and community members to equip our students with skills needed for college and career readiness.

We are a comprehensive high school that offers courses to meet all students' needs and achievement levels, including, but not limited to, college level, advanced placement, college preparation, and general studies. Students can earn an associate’s degree while completing various high school diplomas requirements.

A partnership is in place with community colleges and the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center(SVHEC) to provide our students with enhanced learning opportunities.

Halifax County High School is a member of the Piedmont District Conference 16 and 5A North Region. We offer an extensive extracurricular program including academics, clubs, sports, and band.
