Clubs & Groups
All school clubs and organizations at Halifax County Middle School are under the direction of school personnel. Students are given the opportunity to participate in a number of clubs and organizations that meet their interests and provide worthwhile enrichment activities. Clubs and organizations being offered to students this year include the following:
Choral Music

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
FCCLA builds leaders for healthy families, successful careers, and strong communities. It is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Future Business Leaders Of America (FBLA)

Future Farmers Of America (FFA)

Girls Who Code
Girls Who Code is a club where students learn to see themselves as computer scientists. Participants typically explore various areas of computer science which includes: coding, machine learning/AI, digital intelligence/citizenship, data, cybersecurity, and related careers. In addition, there is a focus on empowerment and building a sense of community amongst the members. Lions Athletics is an interdisciplinary athletic department that offers extracurricular opportunities sharing in the mission of HCMS.

Student Cooperative Association (SCA)
Every student at Halifax County Middle School is a member of the Virginia Student Cooperative Association (VSCA). The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.

The Yearbook
