The Career Tech Academy at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center is a hands-on, dual enrollment training option for 11th and 12th grade high school students from Charlotte, Halifax, and Mecklenburg Counties. Students pursue training in either IT or Mechatronics.

High School students in the SVHEC's Career Tech Academy study IT and have an opportunity to earn college credits and CompTIA certifications. Students in the Career Tech Academy pursue hands-on training in Mechatronics.
