  • Krispy Kreme Fundraiser at Meadville: Meadville Elementary School will be sponsoring a Krispy Kreme fundraiser beginning January 25th through February 8th. Krispy Kreme glazed ($5.00) and specialty doughnuts ($6.00) as well as their signature coffee ($8.00) will be sold. These fresh baked doughnuts will be delivered on Monday, February 13th.   • Superintendent Search Criteria Survey: As you know, Superintendent Stapleton has announced his retirement as of July 1, 2012. The Halifax County School Board would like your input to help prioritize criteria in the search of a new superintendent. We are seeking the opinions of employees, parents, and citizens in this important process.

    An online survey related to superintendent criteria may be filled out at the following link .. Online Superintendent Survey. Hard copies are available at the school offices, central office, and local libraries. Hard copies should be returned to your nearest school or the central office.

    The deadline for all survey responses is February 13, 2012. Should you wish to address the board directly, there will be a public hearing on February 13, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room of the Mary Bethune Office Complex prior to the board's regular meeting.

    It is our hope to announce our next superintendent in June 2012. Thank you for your assistance, and we appreciate your support of our school system.
