They learned about the rich heritage of South Boston, Halifax County, and surrounding areas. The trip wrapped up with a fun activity where they voted for their favorite social media platform—combining history with a modern twist!

Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Crutchfield's class took part in an immersive VR lesson on Aesop's fable, The Tortoise and the Hare. The lesson began with a reading of the classic story, followed by a lively discussion about character traits and the theme. Afterwards, students put on VR goggles, bringing the fable to life as they experienced the story in a whole new way.

A tree fell on a power line causing the alarm to go off at the high school. We were trying to avoid drills and alarms until the Snapchat threats are calmed. Fire and police responded. All students and staff are safe and back inside. The superintendent, school administration, and top law enforcement officials are meeting today to generate solutions around this.
