First Grade students completed projects on animal habitats. Each student had to choose an animal, create a model of their habitat, and answer questions concerning their project. Students presented their projects to their classmates, telling about facts and interesting information that they learned.

Mrs. Cassada’s kindergarten class enjoyed some St Patrick’s Day fun. They listened to read alouds, wrote about what they would do with a pot of gold, and then made themselves look like leprechauns! They used their gold to solve addition story problems, too!

Mrs. Powell's 3rd-grade students recently explored the exciting world of STEAM with a hands-on balloon-powered car challenge! Students built and tested their own cars, learning about engineering, force, and motion while unleashing their creativity. Through trial and error, they fine-tuned their designs to create the fastest racers. This engaging activity was made possible by the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation, whose generosity continues to make a lasting impact on our students. Thank you HCPS Education Foundation for supporting innovative learning experiences! This activity was led by Christie Lewis, ITRT. 🚗🎈💡 #STEAMlearning #HandsOnEducation #ThankYouHCPSFoundation

Remote Learning Day
Due to the forecast for inclement weather this week, all elementary students will receive take-home learning packets and secondary students will complete work as assigned by their teachers. This work is to be completed over the days that school will not be in session. These assignments will come home with them Tuesday. In addition, the food services department has prepared food that students can eat at home during this time. If your child is absent on Tuesday, please call the school and make arrangements to pick up the learning packets and food. In the event we do not receive inclement weather and are able to attend school in-person, assignments do not need to be completed. Assignments will be collected and reviewed upon the first return to school. If you have questions during these remote learning days, please contact your child’s teacher. All schools and buildings will be closed on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. This is a remote learning day for students and a work from home day for staff.
