New SUN Bucks cards are on the way for automatically enrolled households! Please note that your benefits will not become available on SUN Bucks or SNAP EBT cards until July 18, even if you receive a SUN Bucks card in the mail before that date. Benefits will continue to be issued on a rolling basis, so households can expect to receive their SUN Bucks cards at different times.

School is out, summer meals are in! Halifax County Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability or age, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, on a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times listed below. Children must remain onsite while consuming their meals. Halifax Middle May 28 - May 30, June 2 – June 12 Breakfast 8:00-8:45 Lunch 11:00 - 1:00 Middle and High school students will both attend the Middle School Cluster Springs Elem. The last day of school for students will be Thursday, May 22, 2025. Students will be dismissed at the normal dismissal time. We hope you have a wonderful, safe summer!

All after school and evening activities have been cancelled for today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Due to dense fog, Halifax County Public Schools will operate on a one hour delay today, Monday, May 5, 2025. Employees follow code 1, report one hour late.

Interim reports for the fourth nine weeks are available for viewing on the Campus Portal. If you need assistance with the portal or need a paper copy of the report, please contact your child's school.

Any student that has completed grades PK-5 this school year is invited to participate in Summer Success. There will be fun learning activities with reading, math, and science!

As a reminder, schools will be closed beginning Monday, April 7, 2025 through Friday, April 11, 2025 for Spring Break. Students will return to school on Monday, April 14, 2025. We hope that you have a wonderful, safe break.

Report cards for the third nine weeks may be viewed on the Campus Portal. If you need assistance with the portal or need a paper copy of the report card, please contact your child's school.

As a reminder, tomorrow, Friday, March 14, 2025 is a professional development day for staff. Students do not attend school.

At the school board meeting on Monday, March 10, 2025, the board voted to convert Thursday, March 20, 2025, to a full instructional day for students.

PreK screening for the 4 -year-old program is underway. Please call the school in your attendance zone to schedule an appointment.

Due to the conditions of secondary roads, HCPS will be closed on Friday, February 21, 2025. This is a remote learning day for students and a work from home day for ten-month employees. Twelve-month employees are to follow code 2, report two hours late.
