Halifax County Public Schools has Campus Portal so that parents can be active participants in their child’s academic progress. The Campus Portal is a communication tool that provides you with secure access to your child’s school information. It gives you access to your child’s attendance, schedule, grades, assignments, student to-do list, and behavior.
Staff will be available to help you set up your Campus Portal during Open House.

Attention: HCHS Parents/Student Drivers
Effective July 1, 2022, the VDOE requires any high school student who applies to park a vehicle on school property to provide evidence that the student possesses a valid driver's license. Below you will find a memo and an application that you will need to print off for students planning on driving to school. Parking passes will not go on sale until open house on August 14, 2025 from 12:30-6:30. This application must be completed in advance and returned when you purchase your parking pass. There are sections where parents and students will have to complete. Students will also have to show that they have a valid driver's license and the cost is $30. If you don't have a form completed at the time of purchase then you will have to take a form, fill it out, and bring it back before we can issue one. We thank you in advance.

New SUN Bucks cards are on the way for automatically enrolled households!
Please note that your benefits will not become available on SUN Bucks or SNAP EBT cards until July 18, even if you receive a SUN Bucks card in the mail before that date.
Benefits will continue to be issued on a rolling basis, so households can expect to receive their SUN Bucks cards at different times.

School is out, summer meals are in! Halifax County Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability or age, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, on a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times listed below. Children must remain onsite while consuming their meals.

Good Evening Families of the Class of 2025,
As we eagerly prepare for the Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony, we want to ensure that the day
is a positive and memorable experience for all. To help make this possible, we ask for your cooperation
and attention to important parking and security details.
Please note the following important information:
Parking maps for the 2025 Commencement Ceremony are available on our Facebook page
and school website. Seniors will also receive this information via email.
Arrival time: The high school doors will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. Please plan to arrive
early.
Security notice: No bags will be allowed. Please leave them in your vehicles.
Student Parking: Graduating seniors will receive a parking pass granting access to designated
student parking lots. Families are strongly encouraged to ride together to help minimize
congestion.
Accessible Parking: Available in the faculty parking lot for vehicles displaying an accessible
parking permit.
General Parking: All general parking will be accessible via Hwy 501 South Entrance of the
middle school. Law enforcement will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and parking. Shuttle
buses will transport guests from the middle school to the high school if needed.
Please note: There is no general parking available at the high school. Avoid this area to help
reduce traffic congestion.

If your senior's account shows a balance of exactly $413.50, please note that no fees are actually owed—this is a system error we are actively working to resolve.
If the total balance shown is more than $413.50, please check the date of the listed fees. Any fee dated before May 20th or after May 20th is accurate and should be paid.

📚 Summer School 2025 at HCHS 📚
Halifax County High School is offering Summer School 2025 for students who did not pass a class or an SOL this school year (Fall 2024 or Spring 2025). Courses are available for credit recovery and SOL prep, depending on student needs.
🗓 Dates to know:
May 27 – Teacher Workday
May 28–30 (Wed–Fri) – Week 1
June 2–6 (Mon–Fri) – Week 2
June 9–12 (Mon–Thurs) – Week 3
📍 Classes held at the middle school from 8:15 AM to 2:00 PM
🍽 Breakfast and lunch provided at no cost.
📌 Important:
Students must attend every day to receive credit.
No more than 10 hours of total missed time allowed.
Application deadline: May 22, 2025 (Return to Mrs. Chandler’s office)
