Attendance Matters!
Did you know If a student is absent 10% or more of the school year, it is considered chronic absenteeism? Ten percent is 18 days per school year or an average of two days a month.

In honor of International Dot Day, students listened to a reading of "The Dot" during STEAM class. Students then made their own marks using coffee filters, markers, and water. Younger students created dot artwork with coloring sheets and paint sticks.
Meadville Elementary School's Student Council Association is excited to kick-off their first community service project of the 2023-24 school year. Students will be collecting pet food in support of the Halifax Dog Squad. Pictured are 2022-23 SCA officers Mila Conner and Renee Hackney, as they get students excited about giving back to the community! The pet food drive will run from Sept. 18th- Sept. 29th.
Mrs. Williams' 2nd grade class enjoyed the cooler weather, as they read books in the courtyard of the school on Friday morning. They also completed Accelerated Reader quizzes in hopes of reaching their 1st nine weeks AR goals!
During this STEAM activity, Ms. Hollis's kindergarten class at Meadville coded Bee-Bot to the correct shape. Students also identified the vertices and sides of each shape.
Mrs. Moore's PreK students at Meadville Elementary coded the Code and Go Robot Mouse to get the cheese. The activity was facilitated by Mrs. Elliott, ITRT.
Meadville SCA is sponsoring a Pet Food Drive to benefit the Halifax Dog Squad. Participating students will receive a treat, and the class with the most donations will get a free day at PE.
Students in guidance classes at Meadville Elementary discussed empathy and made birthday cards for Caroline Laughorn. Cards will be delivered to Caroline for her 23rd birthday, Thursday.
Students at Meadville Elementary School were surprised by a special guest today at their kickoff program for Accelerated Reader. Meadville's very own black panther will be prowling around the school looking for "Pawsome Readers", which are students who are reading daily and meeting their AR goals.
All schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023 in observance of Labor Day.
