Hi, my name is Riley Francisco, and I’m super excited to share a project I worked on! I built a model of Halifax County Middle School entirely out of cardboard!

The Girls Rock Book Club met on November 18th to discuss our book “Dear Student” by Elly Swartz. The girls also wrote their own mini advice columns, like our main character Autumn ,to help share positive messages with their classmates! These students had a great time enjoying snacks, engaging in discussion, and playing games together.

The students in Ms. Williams and Mrs. Dixon’s Life Science classes created animal and plant cell models to make complex ideas easier to understand. They demonstrated their knowledge of plant and animal cells by constructing a cell model with their choice of medium. Students made play dough or clay models, edible models, styrofoam models, fabric models, mobiles, cardboard models, or poster board models. They used their imaginations and had fun! Great job, Ms. Williams and Mrs. Dixon’s Life Science classes!

Students from Mrs. Swanson's 6th Grade U.S. History I Honors class did an in-depth study of Native American Dwellings. They considered how the unique tribes would utilize the resources available to them and how they designed their dwellings to meet the needs they would face in their environment. In addition to posters and slideshows, the students had the opportunity to build models of the Native American Dwelling they selected to study.
