Students in Mrs. Satterfield's and Ms. Roller's fifth grade class dissected owl pellets during Science class. The students were amazed to see how many tiny bones and teeth they could find from the animals the owl had captured for food. Thank you to the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation for providing the funds for this educational activity.

During guidance class, Mrs. Christal Woicikowfski, school counselor, talked with the students about showing appreciation to others. Students then made cards for the staff to show their appreciation for all they do everyday for their school. Special treats and cards were presented to the staff. Students in Mrs. Pamela Blanks' fourth grade class even got creative and drew new inventions of kitchen gadgets to help the cafeteria staff prepare the numerous meals they fix at school.

Scottsburg Elementary would like to congratulate Ms. Jessica Roller, 5th grade teacher, for being selected for the 2024 Teacher of the Year and Mrs. Cari Spencer, school nurse, for being selected for the 2024 Excellence in Service Award. A special thank you to both of you for all you do to make our school great!
