Due to the forecast for snow during the early morning hours in some parts of the county, Halifax County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay today, Friday, December 12, 2025. Twelve-month employees follow code 2, report two hours late.
Since there is a potential for more winter weather in the forecast, preparations are being made in case a remote learning day is needed. Food is being sent home today for students so please check students' bookbags for refrigerated items. In addition, packets are being sent for elementary students and assignments are being made available in Canvas for secondary students.

Students in Miss Redd’s Kindergarten class have been busy little elves! They have been practicing patterns and counting skills as they eagerly count down to Christmas. To put their learning to the test, students created festive Christmas countdown chains to proudly show their work. 🎄✨

Students in Ms. Libby Redd’s Kindergarten classroom created a special “Spoon of Thanks” to celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving! Each student decorated their own gratitude spoon to take home and share with their family.
The tradition is simple and meaningful: the spoon is passed from person to person, and whoever receives it shares one thing they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
