Celebrating the accomplishments of our amazing 5th grade scholars at the Sydnor Jennings Promotion Ceremony! 🎓✨ From academic awards to special recognitions, these students have worked hard, shown determination, and made us proud every step of the way. Congratulations to all of our award recipients as they prepare for their next chapter in middle school! 💙💛

The last day of school for students will be Thursday, May 28, 2026. Students at South Boston Elementary School and South Boston Early Learning Center will dismiss at 11:00 AM. All other students will dismiss at 11:30 AM.

Three Kindergarten Scholars scored a trip to the book machine for earning at least 50 Dojo points. Scholars were able to get a book of their choice! Happy Reading!

Field Day was filled with smiles, laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories as our scholars enjoyed a day of fun and friendly competition! ☀️🏃‍♂️🎉 A huge thank you to Mr. Saunders and Mrs. Clark for all of their hard work and dedication in planning and organizing such an amazing day for our scholars. Your efforts made this event a huge success!

As the weather warms up, it’s the perfect time to step away from screens and head outdoors! Encourage your child to find a healthy balance between technology and real-world play. Too much screen time can lead to tired eyes, restlessness, and less creativity—while fresh air, sunshine, and movement recharge both body and mind.

Set a simple family rule: for every 30 minutes on a device, spend 30 minutes outside or doing a hands-on activity. Sweet success! 🍦 Kindergarten scholars celebrated their big win in the Penny Wars contest with a well-deserved ice cream party. Smiles, sprinkles, and lots of excitement made this a treat to remember!

Scholars and their families had a sky-high time at our 21st Century event, “Up, Up, and Away!” 🎈 Together, they designed and built their own hot air balloons, then stepped outside to watch their creations take flight. It was an evening filled with creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning that truly lifted everyone’s spirits!

Scholars at Sydnor Jennings Elementary had a special visit from one of their own! ⚾ Through a virtual call, Andrew Abbott of the Cincinnati Reds shared inspiring words about hard work, perseverance, and what it takes to be successful in all areas of life. From these classrooms to the big leagues, his journey is a powerful reminder that our scholars can achieve anything they set their minds to! ❤️🖤
