Miss Oliver's and Mrs. Cash's kindergarten classes reviewed weather this week. Each day they did hands-on activities creating weather in the classroom. After learning about tornadoes and tornado safety, the students had the chance to make a tornado in a jar using water, hand sanitizer, and glitter. Shaking the jar in a circular motion created a "tornado", and students were able to see how objects on the ground could get sucked up into the funnel cloud.

5th grade students at Sydnor Jennings learn about electrical circuits. Dustin Francis from Mecklenburg Electric taught a lesson on electrical circuits. Students learned about conductors, insulators, open and closed circuits, as well as series and parallel circuits. Then they used snap circuits to build a variety of circuits. This was a great hands-on learning experience for our students. Thank you Mecklenburg Electric for your support.
