🚗 Parking Lot Updates for student drivers – Important Information! 🚗
When we return from Spring Break, the parking lot will be newly paved and painted with its permanent numbers. Here’s what you need to know:
❌ No Painted Spaces: Students (seniors & underclassmen) will not be allowed to paint their parking spaces for the remainder of the school year.
🎓 Senior Parking: Seniors may park anywhere in general student parking, but only seniors can choose spaces #6-65 and #261-340.
📅 Monday, April 14th – Parking Passes Required!
✅ Seniors choosing a designated senior space must bring in their parking pass after parking.
✅ Passes must be presented to Mrs. Forlines to have the new space number officially recorded.
🚨 No pass = No space change!
🚫 Underclassmen: Please do not park in any senior-designated spaces (#6-65 & #261-340).

The Southside Virginia Regional Technology Consortium (SVRTC) held an awards luncheon at Longwood University on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Three educators from Halifax County Public Schools won awards. Kelly Weatherford from HCHS won the Instructional Support Award. Wanda Overby from Scottsburg Elementary won the Technical Support Award. Virginia Crutchfield from South Boston Elementary won the Technology Teacher Award. Congratulations to all of the awardees!

Attention Seniors! Join us for College for a Day at SVCC Daniel Campus in Keysville on March 21st from 9AM to 2PM. Explore program offerings, attend engaging workshops, interact with students, faculty, and staff, and discover how to start your journey at SVCC! Lunch will be provided. Sign up in Guidance and see Mr. Tuck for a permission form to attend. In order to attend, you must be a current senior and permission forms will be due on March 14th. Don't miss out!

Due to the conditions of secondary roads, HCPS will be closed on Friday, February 21, 2025. This is a remote learning day for students and a work from home day for ten-month employees. Twelve-month employees are to follow code 2, report two hours late.

All schools and buildings will be closed on Thursday, February 20, 2025. This is a remote learning day for students and a work from home day for staff.

Due to the forecast for inclement weather this week, all elementary students will receive take-home learning packets and secondary students will complete work as assigned by their teachers. This work is to be completed over the days that school will not be in session. These assignments will come home with them Tuesday. In addition, the food services department has prepared food that students can eat at home during this time. If your child is absent on Tuesday, please call the school and make arrangements to pick up the learning packets and food. In the event we do not receive inclement weather and are able to attend school in-person, assignments do not need to be completed. Assignments will be collected and reviewed upon the first return to school. If you have questions during these remote learning days, please contact your child’s teacher.
