On Thursday, March 26, 2026, fifth-grade students from each of our elementary schools and members of the Halifax County Middle School chorus joined together to present the Halifax County Public Schools Music Showcase at the high school. Our talented students performed several selections to show how we are “United Through Music” for Music in Our Schools Month. This was possible due to the collaboration of our elementary, middle, and high school music teachers.

Dear Families,
Get ready—the Scholastic Discovery Fair is coming to our school! This STEAM-powered Book Fair is a great opportunity to get your child excited about science, technology, art, nature, and more with new books and kits they’ll dive into again and again. Just with our regular Fall Book Fair, the easiest way to shop the Fair is by creating a Book Fair eWallet. It’s easy to set up and easy for others to add funds. You can scan the QR code on the flyer that was sent home to do that. If you do not want to create an e-wallet, you can still shop with cash, check, or a credit/debit card.
Here’s everything else you need to know about the Discovery Fair:

 Date: April 3rd during our Panther Picnic
 Location: Library

More than ever, we need to get students reading and engaging in STEAM. Studies prove that children with more books at home have higher-level reading skills and attain more years of education overall.
Have fun discovering!

Students at Meadville enjoyed a Panther Fun Run during PE class for those who signed up with the fundraiser. The Run included obstacles for the students to enjoy as they ran. Laps were counted by using the Ipad and application that was purchased from last year's Fun Run. Students raised money per lap or with a flat donation. Even Mrs. Franco and several parents got in on the fun! Money raised will go toward equipment for Field Day and PE. A huge thanks to those who chose to participate!

☘️ Mrs. Martin and Mrs. McGhee’s PreK class had the best time with this fun, hands-on St. Patrick’s Day activity! They used their fine motor skills and placed fruit loops on a pipe cleaner. Each student created a repeating pattern of their own. At the end of their pipe cleaner they placed two big marshmallows and had a beautiful rainbow. 🌈
