💦🏊♀️ Meadville PreK students enjoyed their first swimming day at the YMCA. They are looking forward to their next visit!
February student of the month at Meadville Elementary School were: Belen Jaklin, Aveah Hayes, Kairee Coleman, Miriam Glass, Konner Fuller, Harmony Faulkner, Olivia Conner, Arthur Hicks, Lincoln Johnson, Ezra Shaughnessy, Tawfeeq Abdullah, Khalil Williams, and Zamir Yuille
Students at Meadville enjoyed a Panther Fun Run during PE class for those who signed up with the fundraiser. The Run included obstacles for the students to enjoy as they ran. Laps were counted by using the Ipad and application that was purchased from last year's Fun Run. Students raised money per lap or with a flat donation. Even Mrs. Franco and several parents got in on the fun! Money raised will go toward equipment for Field Day and PE. A huge thanks to those who chose to participate!
Mrs. Hupp’s kindergarten class had so much fun graphing with Lucky Charms cereal to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day🍀. After completing their math activity, they enjoyed having the cereal for snack.
☘️ Mrs. Martin and Mrs. McGhee’s PreK class had the best time with this fun, hands-on St. Patrick’s Day activity! They used their fine motor skills and placed fruit loops on a pipe cleaner. Each student created a repeating pattern of their own. At the end of their pipe cleaner they placed two big marshmallows and had a beautiful rainbow. 🌈

As a reminder, tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, 2026 is a full instructional day. Students attend school all day.
Due to widespread power outages and potential road conditions, Halifax County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, March 17, 2026. Twelve-month employees follow code 2, report two hours late.
Due to the threat of severe storms and the potential for tornadoes, Halifax County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, March 16, 2026. Twelve-month employees should follow Code 0, do not report to work.

Meadville Elementary students enjoyed dressing up as their favorite book character today to celebrate Read Across America Week!
Students in Mrs. Fallen's 5th grade classes at Meadville Elementary used their engineering skills and knowledge of circuits to design a Bristle Bot. In this activity, students attached a vibrating motor to a brush and wired the motor to the battery in order to activate the Bristle Bot. The purchase of STEM materials was funded through a Mini-Grant from the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation. The Mini-Grant was awarded to Mrs. Susan Elliott, Elementary ITRT, for the project titled: Getting Bristley.
