Martin Luther King Jr. Day
📚⭐️ Mrs. Martin’s Prek class read the book ‘The Snowy Day’ by Ezra Jack Keats. This book is about a young boy, named Peter, who experienced all of the magic of his first snowfall. After listening to the story the students used a mixture of shaving cream and glue to create a snowy scene for Peter. Students had SNOW much fun with this hands-on activity!! ❄️🛷⛄️

🌟 Virtual Field Trip to Washington, D.C.! 🌟

Ms. Hollis's students explored our nation’s capital using ClassVR goggles after reading Monument City 📚✨. They took an immersive virtual tour of Washington, D.C., visiting iconic landmarks including the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, Washington Monument, the National Mall, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and several war memorials🏛️.

This engaging experience brought history to life and deepened students’ understanding of our country’s landmarks and their significance.

👏 The lesson was facilitated by Mrs. Elliott, ITRT, and Mrs. Waller, LAN Manager.

Winter Break
Science meets art in the most festive way! 🎨🍬 Our students started by dissolving peppermints in warm water, observing the beautiful, swirling colors as the candies dissolved. Then, inspired by the colorful patterns, they used pattern blocks to create gorgeous Christmas pictures! These fun and festive activities were led by Mrs. Elliott, ITRT and Mrs. Waller, LAN Manager!

Huge thanks to the Halifax County Educational Foundation for funding this creative learning experience through the Christmas and Winter STEM mini-grant awarded to our incredible ITRT, Mrs. Susan Elliott! Your support makes these memorable lessons possible. ❤️
