✨🎄 Santa's Magic Milk! 🥛 Mrs. Elliott, ITRT and Mrs. Waller, LAN Manager helped our students mix a little science with holiday cheer this week, making colors dance in their bowls! This "Magic Milk" activity is a super fun way to explore surface tension and chemical reactions.

🧑🔬💚 Science grew the Grinch's heart three sizes! 💚🧑🔬
Our young scientists were thrilled to participate in a fun, festive STEM challenge where they made a balloon inflate—simulating the "growth" of the Grinch's heart—using a classic reaction: baking soda and vinegar! It was an unforgettable way to learn about chemical change and gas production.
We extend a huge thank you to the Halifax County Educational Foundation for providing the essential materials through the generous Christmas and Winter STEM mini grant, awarded to Mrs. Susan Elliott, ITRT. 💡🎄 Engineers in Training! Mrs. Fallen's 5th grade brought the holiday sparkle to life by creating light-up Salt Christmas Tree Circuits! They successfully built a functioning circuit using glue, salt, batteries, and LEDs, learning essential concepts about electricity and conductivity.

Food is being sent home today for students so please check students' bookbags for refrigerated items. In November, the Meadville Elementary School Student Council Association sponsored a canned food drive. Meadville students collected canned food, cake mix, icing, and many other non-perishable items to fill the emergency food pantries at the local farmers' markets. Pictured are SCA officers with the collected goods. Thank you to all of the students and parents for supporting our first community service project of the school year.

Meadville Elementary hosted its first Meadville Friendsgiving on Friday, November 21st. Families made a Meadville trail mix from a recipe and ate a delicious Thanksgiving meal. A big thank you to Dominion Energy for sponsoring our dinner, and thanks to Sodexo for the preparation. It was a wonderful night full of laughter and gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving!
