Meadville Elementary School is proud to announce our Virginia Ambassadors of Kindness. They are role models of kindness, grace, empathy, dignity and acceptance to others.

Students in PreK-1st grade at Meadville Elementary participated in hands-on science activities directed by the Danville Science Center's Outreach program. PreK students investigated the five senses while Kindergarteners and first graders explored plants and sowed their own grass. This interactive experience was funded through a grant from the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation. The mini-grant was awarded to Mrs. Kathy Payne, Instructional Coach.

VDOE - Executive Order 28 - Student and Family Resources Regarding Opioids, Overdoes and Fentanyl.
As directed in Governor Youngkin's Executive Order 28, local school divisions must provide informational resources to students, parents, and school personnel on opioid use and abuse to ensure the health and safety of all students in Virginia.

Mrs. Martin’s 1st grade has been discussing how things sink and float in science. Today they took part in enjoying a root beer float. They discussed what would happen with just the ice cream in the cup and then what would happen if root beer was added. The students thoroughly enjoy this tasty science experiment!

Meadville Elementary School second graders recently completed a non-fiction text and research unit learning about Chinese culture. Students in Mrs. Williams' and Ms. McLamb's classes celebrated Chinese New Year's Eve on Friday with a food tasting and STEAM project, where students were challenged to build a life-sized dancing dragon. Afterwards, students paraded through the halls showing off their creations.

Interim reports for the third nine weeks are available for viewing on the Campus Portal. If you need assistance with the portal or need a paper copy of the report, please contact your child's school.

Hello Meadville students and families!
I am excited to share with you that I’ve accepted the American Heart Association’s Principal’s Challenge. I’ve committed to:
being prepared to save a life by learning Hands-Only CPR
learning how to take care of my heart and brain
and raising funds to help kids born with special hearts.
I’m really excited and want every one of our staff, students and families to join me. You can by completing Finn’s Mission on the AHA Schools App or heart.org/schools.
Learning how to save a life, take care of our hearts and brains and help kids with special hearts all at the same time! How does that sound?
I am so excited for us all to help create a community of lifesavers!
Let’s do this, Meadville!
Love,
Mrs. Franco
