Mrs. Moore's PreK class at Meadville designed their own Valentine mailboxes during STEAM. Mrs. Elliott, ITRT facilitated the lesson.
Students participated in the Marshmallow Snowman Challenge during STEAM class to create this sweet treat. Thanks to Meadville PTO for purchasing the supplies for this activity!

I am excited to share with you that I’ve accepted the American Heart Association’s Principal’s Challenge. I’ve committed to:
being prepared to save a life by learning Hands-Only CPR
learning how to take care of my heart and brain
and raising funds to help kids born with special hearts.

Meadville Elementary had Abbey Barley from the American Heart Association come to do their annual Kick Off of the Kids Heart Challenge. She and Coach Martin led the kids in cheers and learned about how to be a Heart Hero for their community. Meadville will be doing their KHC event this year in memory of Chester Farmer, a bus driver for Meadville who passed away this school year.
Miss McLamb's second graders at Meadville Elementary coded drones to land on the continents and oceans.
Students in Mrs. Peer’s classes at Meadville Elementary used their engineering skills and knowledge of circuits to design a Bristle Bot. In this activity, students attached a vibrating motor to a toothbrush head and wired the motor to the battery in order to activate the Bristle Bot. The purchase of STEM materials was funded through a Mini-Grant from the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation. The Mini-Grant was awarded to Mrs. Susan Elliott, Elementary ITRT, for the project titled: Getting Bristley.
Ms. McLamb's 2nd grade class participated in a fun procedural text assignment on how to plant a flower!
