Ms. Epperson’s Pre-K students at Scottsburg Elementary had a special visit from Shana Thompson, Ava Thompson, and April Hodges along with some adorable farm animals. Students have been learning in class about different farm animals and how to care for them. They were excited to see the animals up close and even had a chance to pet them. The class enjoyed meeting baby turkeys, chickens, ducks, and goats. It was another exciting day for our Pre-K students!
Not everything online is as good as gold — especially on social media! This month, focus on helping your child become a smart digital detective. Teach them to pause, think, and check before they believe or share something they see online.

Encourage your child to double-check information by looking at more than one source. Talk about how likes and shares don’t always mean something is true.
For younger learners, guide them to kid-safe websites where they can explore and learn with confidence.

To celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss, students and staff dressed in red, white, black, and fun patterned shirts on Monday, March 2. Classrooms were filled with laughter and learning as students enjoyed reading their favorite Dr. Seuss stories, including "Green Eggs and Ham". At lunch, students had the chance to try green eggs and ham. Before heading to the cafeteria, the Pre-K students graphed whether they thought they would like this colorful meal. After tasting it, most gave it a big thumbs up. It was a fun-filled day of reading, trying new things, and celebrating at Scottsburg Elementary!
At the Scottsburg Elementary Book Fair, the school was filled with lots of smiles and hugs as students and their families enjoyed breakfast and a trip together to the Book Fair. It was great seeing everyone come out to support this event while making lots of wonderful memories. A special thank you to all our awesome volunteers that helped out so much. Students in Mrs. Pamela Blanks’ fourth grade class at Scottsburg Elementary did a fantastic job creating and presenting their 4-H Presentation Projects. Once topics were selected, the fourth graders completed research and organized the information. They then designed a creative display or created a PowerPoint presentation to showcase what they had learned and used their public speaking skills and confidence to stand in front of their classmates to present this information.
