At Scottsburg Elementary, Mrs. Khaela Powell, Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT), guided third grade students on an immersive virtual field trip to Ancient Egypt and Ancient China. Students enjoyed using technology to "visit" these countries and learn more about the history, geography, and culture without leaving the classroom.

Students at Scottsburg Elementary recently learned the basics of hockey in PE with Mr. Keith Beadles and Mrs. Sherrey Deel. After reviewing the rules and techniques, students split up in teams and put their new skills in action. Everyone had an exciting time playing the game. It was a fun and active way for students to build coordination, sportsmanship, and confidence.

♥️ Show Love and Kindness Online ♥️
This Valentine’s season, remind your child that what they share online lasts longer than candy hearts! Even if something is deleted, unkind words or images can stay online and continue to hurt others.

✨ Tech Tip:
Encourage your child to spread kindness online by sending a positive message or compliment to a friend, classmate, or family member.
Remind them that small, kind actions online can brighten someone’s day—just like a real-life Valentine!

🌐 Helpful Website:
Canva for Kids – www.canva.com
Your child can create and send free digital valentines to friends and family while learning how to share love and creativity responsibly online.

💖 Remember:
Digital footprints last forever, but so does kindness. Let’s fill our feeds with encouragement, positivity, and love this month!

Students in Ms. Freeman’s second grade class at Scottsburg Elementary celebrated making it through 100 days of school with lots of learning and creativity. Students participated in instructional activities centered around the number 100 and got creative by decorating 100 day sunglasses. The students had a great time wearing their glasses in hopes of sunnier days ahead and maybe a little less snow!
