
At Scottsburg Elementary, students enjoyed hearing the story, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds read by Mrs. Roberta Williams, the school librarian. Students were then given the opportunity to make their mark and draw their own version of a dot. Their creativity was then placed on a display in the hallways for others to see.




Too many absences can keep students from succeeding in school. If students miss 10% of the school year, they are considered chronically absent.

Did you know If a student is absent 10% or more of the school year, it is considered chronic absenteeism? Ten percent is 18 days per school year or an average of two days a month.


All schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023 in observance of Labor Day.

Fall Mum Sale At Scottsburg Elementary
Start your fall decorating now and support Scottsburg Elementary during our annual fall mum fundraiser. A variety of beautiful colors are available including yellow, orange, purple, red, and white. The cost of the mums are $8.00 each. All order forms and money are due by Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Order forms will be sent home with students and are available in the office. Thank you for your continued support of our school.


Smiling faces were all around at Scottsburg Elementary as the 2023-2024 school year began on August 21, 2023. Faculty and staff greeted the students as they arrived and welcomed them back. The first day was a great start!

Scottsburg Elementary would like to wish Mr. Moses McCargo a happy retirement. Mr. McCargo has worked many years as a school custodian. The students and staff would like to thank him for keeping our school clean and safe and wish him well on his retirement.
