On Friday, April 4, Ms. Sherry Cowan, principal at Scottsburg Elementary, worked her last day prior to her retirement after 40 years of dedicated service to Halifax County Public Schools. The staff and students were saddened by her retirement announcement but celebrated with her during her final hours with a "Retirement Parade" in her honor. With music in the air, students marched around the school giving Ms. Cowan lots of hugs, cards, balloons, and posters they had made. Scottie Pride was felt throughout the halls as everyone applauded her for a job well done. We will miss her!

She challenged the students to see if they could identify which staff members the pictures belonged to.
