On March 18, 2024, the Pre-K students in Ms. Beth Epperson's class at Scottsburg Elementary were shocked that a Leprechaun destroyed their classroom while they were at PE. The Leprechaun had moved around everything and even knocked down chairs. The students were upset and decided to try and find him. To their surprise, along the way the Leprechaun had left clues to his location, but he was moving way too fast. They searched down all the hallways, in the principal's office, the gym, and even in the music room. Finally, the students rushed to the library and searched around the bookcases and discovered the Leprechaun's pot of gold. They were sad the Leprechaun had gotten away, but happy the Leprechaun had left his pot of gold and enough gold for each student to have a piece. The students had a great time taking turns counting each piece of gold. It was a very lucky day!

At Scottsburg Elementary, students in second, third, and fourth grade were excited to have ACE the Mighty, Dr. Jerry Wallace, President of Danville Community College and Ms. Faith O’Neil, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Danville Community College share with them the book they wrote, ACE the Mighty Conquers Knight School. Scottsburg Elementary felt very fortunate to be a part of the ACE the Mighty Elementary School Book Tour and have the opportunity to meet the authors and ACE, the star character of the book. Dr. Huskin, school superintendent, joined in on this exciting event. After Ms. O'Neil read the story, she and Dr. Wallace talked with the students and encouraged them to always be kind, never give up, and always do their best. They presented ACE the Mighty pins and bookmarks to each student, also.
