Shining Stars in the 21st Century After-School Program turned into young chemists for the day! They carefully measured glue, water, and liquid starch, then mixed them together to create their own ooey-gooey slime. A hands-on, messy, and fun way to explore chemistry!
Shining Stars in the 21st Century After-School Program had a blast with this hands-on STEM activity! They created their own pan flutes by taping together straws of different lengths, then explored how the length of each straw affected the pitch of the sound. A fun and musical way to learn about science!
Our 5th-grade Shining Stars' students completed an exciting STEM lesson, designing and constructing a self-standing rainbow arch out of paper! This engaging, hands-on activity was a fantastic way to explore engineering concepts and creativity, all made possible through the support of the 21st Century Grant.

Third-grade students at Sydnor Jennings Elementary explored the principles of force and motion by designing and building their own balloon-powered cars. This exciting hands-on learning experience was made possible through the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation's Mini Grant program.
