Attention Seniors! Join us for College for a Day at SVCC Daniel Campus in Keysville on March 21st from 9AM to 2PM. Explore program offerings, attend engaging workshops, interact with students, faculty, and staff, and discover how to start your journey at SVCC! Lunch will be provided. Due to the conditions of secondary roads, HCPS will be closed on Friday, February 21, 2025. This is a remote learning day for students and a work from home day for ten-month employees. Twelve-month employees are to follow code 2, report two hours late.

Due to the forecast for inclement weather this week, all elementary students will receive take-home learning packets and secondary students will complete work as assigned by their teachers. This work is to be completed over the days that school will not be in session. These assignments will come home with them Tuesday. In addition, the food services department has prepared food that students can eat at home during this time. If your child is absent on Tuesday, please call the school and make arrangements to pick up the learning packets and food. In the event we do not receive inclement weather and are able to attend school in-person, assignments do not need to be completed. Assignments will be collected and reviewed upon the first return to school. If you have questions during these remote learning days, please contact your child’s teacher.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, there will be an event titled Blueprints for Dreams: Building Our Future Together. Students in grades 5-11 and their parents are invited to attend the event at HCMS from 5:30 PM- 7:00 PM. The presenters will provide a lot of valuable information for students and parents about secondary education. A general session will be offered that includes information about courses, diploma types, graduation requirements, certifications, and much more! Tables will be set up for guests to visit for content areas and electives. Staff including teachers, school counselors, and administrators will be available to answer specific questions about courses, career pathways, etc. Selected students will also be in attendance to share course highlights and other information they feel is valuable for other students.
The first one hundred attendees will receive a free BBQ meal with sides, a dessert, and drink. There will also be drawings for door prizes!
Please park in the bus parking lot. Doors will open at 5:15 PM.
If you are a student in grades 5-11 or a parent of a student in grades 5-11, you don’t want to miss this event! It will be very informative and exciting for all!
