I Am Thankful For…… The students in Mrs. Young’s class talked about the people and the things that we loved and are happy to have in our lives. The people and the things that we love were then related to the things that we are thankful for. We discussed how families get together and eat turkey and a lot of other foods on a special day called Thanksgiving to celebrate the things that they are thankful for. The students were given thankful coloring pages and crayons to color however they would like to. Once they were done coloring, they had to tell the teachers what they were thankful for. The teachers wrote the students’ responses at the bottom of the page. The pages were laminated and turned into placemats to use during Thanksgiving dinner or any meal time.

South Boston Early Learning Center Visits Richmond Metro Zoo - The students from South Boston Early Learning Center traveled to the Richmond Metro Zoo for a fun and educational field trip. The students spent the day exploring the zoo's many exhibits, observing a variety of animals including giraffes, lions, and other exotic species. Without a tour guide, students and their chaperones were encouraged to explore at their own pace, discovering the animals and learning about their habitats. The trip provided a hands-on opportunity for students to connect with nature, fostering a deeper understanding of wildlife and the importance of animal conservation. The visit was both an enjoyable and enriching experience for all involved.
